Welcome back to the “Right Up My Street” blog, where I share my passions and experiences with all of you. Today, let me reintroduce myself – I’m Juweyria, also known as JayJay Vibes… While I find joy in many things, today I want to go into my journey as a female traveller.
Reflecting on the past year, I had the privilege of exploring 74 countries! I started my travelling journey at my teenage years until now, travel has been a constant source of excitement and growth for me. As I set my sights on this year’s goal of reaching 80 countries and then I hope to touch down in Antarctica, marking my fifth continent, I can’t help but marvel at the journey ahead, In sha Allah.
One of the most liberating aspects of my travels is the ability to embrace solo adventures. Saying “Yes, I can do this!” has become a motivation that empowers me, even in places where solo female travel might be less common, such as my homeland, Somalia. Despite the challenges, I refuse to let my background hinder my pursuit of what I love.
I have travelled to Asia, Africa, Europe, and South America (with Peru holding a special place in my heart for now), I’m driven by countless dreams and a desire to inspire and connect with fellow female travellers worldwide. I’ve embarked on a mission to reach out to as many Muslimahs across different countries, inviting them to join me on this journey of exploration and discovery. As a Muslimah traveller, I’ve encountered many experiences – whether exploring with my loved ones or embarking on solo adventures. There is an indescribable thrill that accompanies each adventure, offering a sense of liberation amidst life’s busy schedule.
While the road to visiting over 70 countries hasn’t been without its hurdles, planning and unwavering determination have made it possible. I believe that with vision and determination, anyone can achieve their travel dreams. Fearlessly embracing life is my ultimate aspiration, driving me to set my sights on Antarctica in the coming year, god willing.
In the spirit of empowerment, my goal this year is to demonstrate that women are capable of anything they set their minds to. I eagerly anticipate the paths the world will lead me down next.
